Hi! My name is Robert Robbins. I live in Thayer and love it. I believe in good family values and Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness for my community.

I believe in as little government as necessary for the needs. I understand that different voters consider different things to be important. I will try to help the voters understand that everything they want will cost them in taxes and get them to weigh out the good vs. bad in "new programs". (NO FREE LUNCH)

I believe that the local Volunteer Fire Departments are a very important and viable part of the local communities and plan to help gain support for them.

I believe that the County Sheiff serves a most important role in our county and plan to be as supportive to that department as passible. I moved to Newton Countty because it is rural and hope it will stay that way. I am opposed to the incorporation of Lincoln/Lake townships and will continue to be.

I am a firm believer in property rights and recognize the US Fish and Wildlife plans for this area as a threat to all of us and am firmly opposed to the institution of a wildlife refuge along the Kankakee or anywhere in Newton County.

I believe in the Constitution of the U.S. and of Indiana and fully intend to uphold and defend both of them and to encourage my neighbors in Newton County to do likewise.

I believe that nobody should get special favors ie...politicians, private organizations such as TNC, or friends of such. I will accept no special favors when elected and will discourage my colleagues from the same. How can people trust us if we act untrustworthy?
